The price of the taxi from the airport to the centre of the city should not exceed 600 Kc (note: 19 times the price of the municipal transport, see "Tickets for the municipal transport" below). The information about the prices of taxi should be found at the airport.

Transport to building "Troja"

Subway (metro) and walk: Line C (red), to the station "Nadrazi Holesovice". Use the exit in the front of the train with which you arrived. The path from the subway station to the faculty is shown in the detailed street map of the "Troja" area (61 kB) by the dotted red line (about 12 min).

Subway (metro) and bus: Line C (red), to the station "Nadrazi Holesovice". Use the exit at the rear of the train with which you arrived. On the surface, take bus 102, 201 or 210. Leave the bus at the first stop behind the bridge over the river. The name of the station is "Kuchynka".

Taxi: Please, tell the driver: Faculty of Mathematics and Physics, Troja, glass building behind the bridge "Most Barikadniku", at the right-hand side (In Czech: Matematicko-fyzikalni fakulta, Troja, sklenena budova za mostem Barikadniku, vpravo).

When traveling from the central Prague, the faculty department building at Troja is a high, twelve-floor glass building on the right-hand side just behind the bridge "Most Barikadniku" across the Vltava river. The entrance is located in the low building right to the department building (behind it when viewed from the bus station). The Department of Geophysics is located on the uppermost, 12th floor.

Transport to building "Karlov"

Subway (metro) and walk: Line C (red), to the station "I.P.Pavlova" or "Vysehrad". The faculty building "Ke Karlovu 3" is located in between the subway stations, see the detailed street map of the "Karlov" area (55 kB).

When entering the faculty building "Ke Karlovu 3", you should pass through the corridor in the first (slightly higher than the entrance) or second floor across the building to the back staircase and go upstairs to the third floor. The Department of Geophysics is located directly at the back staircase.

Transport to the Geophysical Institute

Subway (metro) and walk: Line C (red), to the station "Roztyly". The path from the subway station to the Geophysical Institute is shown in the detailed street map of the "Sporilov" area (21 kB) by the dotted red line (about 10 min).

Tickets for the municipal transport

The tickets for the municipal transport can be bought at the airport and at all metro stations, where automatic machines are available, and at tobacconists. It is not possible to buy the tickets directly in the bus or tram. The price of a ticket is 32 Kc. The ticket must be marked when entering a subway, bus or tram. The ticket is then valid for 90 minutes. Within this period you can make any change (e.g., from subway to bus or tram and vice versa).
