THIRD CIRCULAR


The Institute of Geophysics, Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic, Prague, together with the Consortium "Seismic Waves in Complex 3-D Structures", Department of Geophysics, Faculty of Mathematics and Physics, Charles University in Prague, organize a workshop "SEISMIC WAVES IN LATERALLY INHOMOGENEOUS MEDIA VII" in Teplá Premonstratensian Monastery on June 21-26, 2010. The workshop follows the 72nd Annual Meeting of EAGE in Barcelona, 14 - 17 June 2010.

INTRODUCTION

In this circular, you can find a preliminary list of contributions (abstracts will appear slightly later), updated preliminary list of participants and some additional instructions. Detailed instructions concerning the arrival to Prague and the departure to Teplá will be issued in the 4th circular in the beginning of June. Right now, we can inform you that the bus will leave the Institute of Geophysics at Sporilov, on Monday, June 21, between 12:00 and 13:00. It will stop at the airport between 13:30 and 14:30.

PRESENTATION OF CONTRIBUTIONS

As announced in the previous circulars, the oral presentations should be in English; no simultaneous translation will be provided. The oral presentations should not be longer than 20 minutes; 5 minutes after each are reserved for a discussion. One PC screen projector 1024x768 pixels and two overhead projectors will be available. Posters should be also in English. The area reserved for the presentation of a poster is of the size 145 cm (vertical) x 95 cm (horizontal). The poster session will start with a short (not more than 5 minutes) introduction to each of the presented posters. The form of presentation respects, in most cases, wishes of the authors. Changes from oral to poster presentation and vice versa can be dealt with individually.

LADIES PROGRAMME

Ladies programme will include visits to sightseeing spots in western Bohemia.

CONFERENCE FEE

The fee for a participant is CZK 15000 if received in full before May 20, 2010, CZK 17000 afterwards. The fee includes registration fee, full board and accommodation for 5 days in the Monastery, social activities and conference materials. For an accompanying person, the fee is CZK 11000, the fee for a child under 12 years is CZK 6000.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

We are kindly asking those participants who did not contact the Organizing Committee recently (for example, by submitting their abstract), to confirm their participation by May 31. By the same date, we would also appreciate confirmation of the participation of acompanying persons. If you know that you are not going to be able to participate, please, be so kind and inform us.
